QWith so many clients, which one should I install first?
Go with Clash Plus — the first card on every platform: it has an official build on all five platforms, a consistent interface, a built-in mihomo core, and a subscription that works by pasting the link, with the fewest pitfalls for beginners. QWhat if SmartScreen blocks the installer on Windows?
Most open-source clients don't buy a commercial code-signing certificate, so SmartScreen shows a "Windows protected your PC" warning for installers that aren't widely downloaded. Click "More info," then "Run anyway" to continue. As long as the installer came from this page's download links, it's the original release file from that project.
QWhat if macOS says the app is "from an unidentified developer"?
If Gatekeeper blocks the first launch, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security; the blocked app shows up near the bottom of the page, where you can click "Open Anyway." QHow do I choose between arm64-v8a and armeabi-v7a on Android?
Virtually every mainstream phone released after 2016 has a 64-bit processor, so pick arm64-v8a; armeabi-v7a is only needed for very old 32-bit devices. If you're really unsure, download the universal build instead — larger, but it installs on either architecture. Picking the wrong one usually shows up as the install failing outright or the app crashing on launch; just reinstall with the correct build.
QThe version number on the page doesn't match the file I downloaded?
The version shown on each card is read live from a version manifest by a script, and the download link points to the same current file in that manifest — the two normally match. If the version shows a placeholder, the manifest hasn't finished loading yet; wait a moment or refresh the page. The fallback link behind the button still points to a working release file either way, so installation isn't affected.
QClash for Windows is discontinued — can I still use it?
The archived build is still available to download and install, and basic proxying still works, but the core and rule support are frozen: new protocols aren't supported, and bugs won't get fixed. Moving to Clash Plus or Clash Verge Rev is recommended — your subscription link carries over directly and the interface logic is similar, so the switch is low-effort.
